Deals and Steals of the Week(end)!

I’m sure the last thing you want to do after a long, hard week is hunt for sales, so as we head into the weekend, let me share with you some great deals and steals you can find when you hit up the mall (or the computer) this weekend.

First up, the fantastic Bloomingdale’s 20-50% Off Home Sale where you can get deals on gorgeous bedding like this graphic Vera Wang ensemble

…and this Calvin Klein floral set – perfect for spring!

Restoration Hardware has a Clear the Decks Sale going on right now and the bargains aren’t limited to outdoor furniture.  You can save up to 60% on all kinds of great finds, like this writing desk for only $599.00, a steal in the world of Restoration Hardware.

And I love this Couturier’s Chair, perfect for a quiet corner, for only $249.

If you’re trying to sell your house or just ready for a change, a quick and easy way to update a room is with lighting.  An old world fixture like this one would bring drama to a front entrance room or add dimension above a kitchen table, plus you can order it online for $164.95 from LightStyle of Orlando.

And Overstock is offering an extra 15% off all area rugs like this beautiful 6×9 white shag rug that would be simply gorgeous in a modern space!

Happy Shopping!

Cash in the Bank

I’ve always loved playing games and taking quizzes, so today I devised a little quiz game called Cash in the Bank.  I’m going to ask a series of questions about two similar pieces of furniture to see if you can tell which one is the least expensive.  The more answers you get right, the more cash you’ll have in the bank.  The answers will appear at the bottom of the post.  No peeking!

1) One of the chaises below is $3698.00 and the other is $579.00.   Can you tell which one is lower priced?

A)

OR

B)

2) What about these ottomans?  One is on sale for $419 (down from $499) and the other is almost double that at $910.  Which one do you think cost the least?

A)

OR

B)

3) Dining room tables can range from a few hundred dollars to many thousands of dollars.  The tables below are nearly identical but one is $499.00 and the other $999.00.  Can you tell which one would save you $500.00?

A)

OR

B)

4) Lounge chairs are great for relaxing and you could have practically have two for the price of one if you can guess the least expensive of these two.

A)

OR

B)

How do you think you did?

The answers are as follows:

1) B is from Urban Outfitters and is the less expensive option at $579.00.  Compare that to the $3698.00 chaise from Anthropologie and you’ve saved $3119.00!

2) B is currently on sale at Z Gallerie for $419 which is $491.00 less than the ottoman from Restoration Hardware!

3) B is the less expensive dining room table, so even though they’re both from Pottery Barn one cost $500 more than the other

4) A is a $249 lounge chair from IKEA compared to a similar chair for $449 from Pottery Barn

If you chose all the least expensive furniture options you would have spent a total of $1746.00 compared to the $6056.00 you would have paid on all the most expensive pieces.  It doesn’t always make sense to buy the least expensive furniture, but in today’s economy who wouldn’t love to have an extra $4310.00 of Cash in the Bank?
